Our Charity

Adam’s Light, born of love and loss, is dedicated to providing suicide prevention education and promoting mental wellbeing among young people under 30.

Suicide affects every part of society. It does not discriminate by age, gender, ethnicity, background, or profession. Its impact ripples through families, friends, workplaces, and communities, leaving lasting trauma and unanswered questions. Yet many people still feel unsure how to talk about suicide or how to support someone who may be struggling.

Young people today are navigating increasing pressures around mental health, loneliness, and emotional distress. Schools report rising levels of anxiety, self harm, and crisis presentations. For most young people, speaking openly about their feelings or asking for help can still feel out of reach, leaving them carrying the weight of their thoughts alone.

Suicide is the leading cause of death in young people under 35 in the UK. It is officially recorded from age 10 upward, though younger cases do exist but are not included in national statistics to protect privacy. It is difficult to take in the devastating reality of that. The need for honest, inclusive, and accessible suicide prevention education has never been greater.

Adam’s Light shines into the spaces where silence and stigma too often prevail, offering hope, understanding and support. We believe that no one should have to face emotional pain alone and that with the right tools, conversations, and community, we can help prevent suicide, build a culture of care, and create lasting change… and it all starts with education.

What We Do

  • We deliver free, powerful, age-appropriate talks on suicide prevention and mental health to schools, colleges, universities and community organisations.

  • We break down the stigma that still surrounds suicide, especially in younger generations.

  • We help young people recognise when someone may be struggling and how to support them safely while looking after their own wellbeing.

  • We teach young people, educators, parents and caregivers how to start open, honest conversations about mental health and emotional challenges.

  • We promote everyday tools and strategies to support positive wellbeing and resilience.

Our Mission

Based in East Sussex and the surrounding areas, Adam’s Light exists to honour lives lost to suicide by creating spaces where young people feel safe, supported, and able to talk openly about their mental health. Our talks bring hope, understanding, and practical tools that strengthen wellbeing and encourage open conversation.

We believe young people deserve honesty, clarity, and the reassurance that things can change. By helping young people understand their own feelings and how to recognise when someone else may be struggling, we show them that emotional challenges are shared, that they are not alone, and that support is within reach both for themselves and in the ways they can support others.

This foundation, shaped by professional insight and lived experience, underpins every talk we deliver today, ensuring young people feel seen, heard, and supported long before crisis point.
