Adam’s Blue Light is an initiative within Adam’s Light designed to provide suicide prevention training for those working on the frontline of policing. As our work has grown, we have become increasingly aware of the environments where suicide prevention training is most urgently needed. Policing is one of those environments.
Through Adam’s brother Harry, who serves as a Metropolitan Police officer, we have gained a deeper understanding of the pressures officers face every day. We have seen the compassion they bring to their work and the emotional weight that crisis situations can leave behind long after the moment has passed.
Frontline officers are often the first point of contact for people in acute distress. They step into situations that are unpredictable, emotionally charged, and deeply personal. The responsibility they carry is immense, and the impact of traumatic incidents can stay with them. Supporting officer wellbeing after these experiences is essential for their own health and for the communities they serve.
What We Offer
Adam’s Blue Light has been developed to provide tailored suicide prevention support specifically for frontline policing. Our aim is to complement existing training by offering practical, clinically informed guidance that reflects both professional expertise and the lived realities of crisis response.
Our Sessions are designed to:
• Strengthen confidence when responding to individuals in crisis
• Offer clear, practical approaches to recognising suicide risk
• Support officers in navigating difficult conversations safely and with compassion
• Provide insight into the lived experience of crisis and bereavement
• Promote officer wellbeing following traumatic or emotionally challenging incidents
• Reinforce that officers are not alone in this work
We are committed to working in partnership with the policing community to support officer wellbeing and the safety of those they encounter, and to delivering training that reflects real operational challenges.
Working Together
As a small charity, our core mission remains providing free suicide prevention talks to young people. Expanding our work into new sectors requires additional resources, so this training can only be delivered with financial support from the organisations we partner with. Some level of funding will be necessary for us to offer this training to police services.
Any contribution would be used solely to cover the costs of delivering this training and to support our ability to continue providing free suicide prevention talks to young people.
This follows the same principle as our Bringing Awareness to the Workplace model, where organisations fund presentations for their teams and, in doing so, help sustain our youth outreach.
